History/Philosophy: The Brokaw family has been growing avocado and citrus conventionally for 50 years. They grow this wonderful produce on the coast of southern California in Santa Paula in Ventura County and in southern Monterey County. Both areas have Mediterranean climates and the close proximity to the ocean stabilizes temperature fluctuation. The result is no temperature extremes, which subtropical fruit trees love. Will Brokaw is a second generation farmer and has been in business for himself for 15 years. Will, with the help of competent employees and a constantly evolving production system, personally manages the handling of the fruit.
