Farm fresh eggs are plentiful at our farmers markets. And don’t miss the wide selection of locally made cheeses!
You’ll find many varieties of eggs at our markets, including goose, duck, chicken, and tiny quail eggs. Raw milk, cream, and yogurt made from pastured, grass fed cows is a rare find and available from Schoch Family Farmstead, along with an impressive selection of handmade cheeses. Aged sheep’s milk cheeses are also available from Garden Variety Cheese, a 2012 gold medal award winner at the Good Food Awards!
Made in small batches with fresh milk from their flock of pasture-raised sheep, Garden Variety Cheese sheep milk yogurt is extra thick and luscious with a pleasant tang.
Pastured, free-range duck eggs, available at Mello-Dy Ranch, have more twice the nutritional value of chicken eggs, and are much higher in Omega 3 fatty acids.
We like to make this creamy, savory cheese spread with Garden Variety Cheese’s “Cosmos” sheep milk feta. Serve with baked pita chips or artisan bread.
