Don’t miss the annual Lavender Sisterhood Sale and fundraiser on Saturday, September 26 at the Aptos Farmers Market! Stop by the Lavender Sisterhood booth and meet this charming group of ladies who grow, harvest, dry and make fragrant lavender products from the organic lavender at the Mid-County Senior Center garden on Bay Avenue. They will be selling a variety of handmade lavender crafts including soothing eye pillows, sachets (made from vintage handkerchiefs), wands and lavender-scented hand-milled soap. In addition, they will have bags of dried lavender available to use for your own craft projects or culinary use.
If you’d like to grow lavender in your own garden, these ladies will also be glad to share the best varieties to grow in our area, and guidance about how to plant and maintain lavender plants.
All proceeds from the sale benefit the Mid-County Senior Center.
