For those of you who have been coming to the markets for many years, we have sad news. Gib Everett, the original “Orchid Man” recently passed away at his home in Chico. He was a long standing member of the Monterey Bay Certified Farmers Markets from 1993 to 2002. Gib was a small orchid grower out of Watsonville. His humor and wit will be missed.

As the frenetic summer pace slows down and we slide into autumn, there is a gentler more relaxed quality to our market days. September feels like the time to return to our kitchens, to have cozy family dinners around the table and to make lots of apple desserts. Remember folks — home is where the pants are stretchy and the wifi connects automatically!
Have a great month!
