Saturday, June 28, 2008 — Aptos Farmers Market
Summer Berry Festival and Berry Cooking Competition
Bluegrass music, kids craft activities and a berry baking/cooking competition featuring sweet or savory creations with berries, and a chance to taste the winning entries are highlights this festival! What better way to spend a Saturday? The festival will showcase the local bounty, flavors and wide selection of berries grown in the “berry bowl” of the nation including strawberries, blackberries, olallieberries, blueberries, and raspberries. After judging, customers can purchase a sample of the entries while they last—proceeds from sales support our Shop with the Chef program.

Salsa Festival
A summer festival with a south-of-the-border theme will spice up this market day with a salsa-making demonstration and will include a salsa-making competition, music and dancing! After judging, customers can purchase chips and sample the salsas while they last. Proceeds from sales support our Shop with the Chef program.

A true harvest celebration, this annual festival is a favorite, featuring the bounty of our fall crops—fresh local apples and winter squashes. Craft activities for the kids, balloon art, and a baking contest highlight our delicious local fruits and vegetables. Bake your favorite apple or pumpkin pie, cake, or bread, and enter the competition! After judging, customers can purchase a sample of the entries while they last—proceeds from sales support our Shop with the Chef program.
